I was born and raised into a very large family in a very small town in Western Pennsylvania. I was the middle child of six kids making our family about 1/3rd of the population of our small town. As if six kids were not already enough in one family, my parents later ended up taking in a couple other “stray kids” to live with us.
Not having much to do in a small town I supposedly liked playing in the mud a lot. I also spent a time doing other outdoor activities such as hunting, camping, hiking, riding my bike for miles, exploring vast amounts of forests, snowboarding, skiing, and the sport of hockey.
Shortly after graduating high school I had had enough of small town Pennsylvania living and the cold winters, so I decided to pack my bags and move down to Wilmington, NC in 1997. Upon arriving in Wilmington I almost immediately started working at a local Country Club doing golf course maintenance.
Perhaps because of all the time and experience I had playing in the mud as a child, I was asked by the golf course superintendent if I would like to learn to do the irrigation on the golf course. This is where my career in irrigation first started to take shape. I immediately took interest in the intricacies of the inner workings of irrigation systems.
In 2013 I ended up leaving the golf course and worked for various local companies doing irrigation. In 2018 my spouse and I decided our lives were not crazy enough so we adopted an older child. In large part because of this life-changing decision I shortly thereafter made the brave decision to go out on my own and started my own irrigation company.
Nowadays, other than juggling the raising of a child, I spend time traveling, playing and watching hockey, and occasionally rescuing injured and lost animals.
